2000-04-04 Special CC CS MinutesMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY- -APRIL 4, 2000- -6:30 P.M. Mayor Appezzato convened the Special Meeting at 6:35 p.m. Roll Call - Present: Councilmembers Daysog, DeWitt, Johnson, Kerr and Mayor Appezzato - 5. Absent: None. The Special Meeting was adjourned to Closed Session to consider: (00 -155) Conference with Legal Counsel - Existing Litigation; Name of Cases: Alameda - Contra Costa Transit District, et al. v. California Department of Transportation, et al.; and Name of Case: City of Alameda v. Edgar Roberts, Donald Watson, Kenneth Ma, Janice Lee (O'Ryan's Tavern). (00 -156) Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation; Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to subdivision (b) of Section 54956.9; Number of Potential Cases: One. (00 -157) Conference with Labor Negotiator; Agency Negotiator: Human Resources Director and Austris Rungis; Employee Organizations: Alameda Police Managers Association- APMA; Alameda Police Officers Association - APOA; International Association of Firefighters, Local #689 - IAFF. Following the Closed Session, the Special Meeting was reconvened and Mayor Appezzato announced that regarding Alameda - Contra Costa Transit District, the City Council obtained a briefing from AC Transit's Attorney and the City Attorney and gave instructions on settlement parameters; regarding (O'Ryan's Tavern), Council obtained a briefing on status of litigation; regarding Anticipated Litigation, the City Council discussed significant exposure to litigation; and regarding Conference with Labor Negotiator, Council obtained a briefing and gave instructions to City's negotiators.
