ADOPTING A STREET TREE MASTER PLAN IDENTIFYING
POLICIES FOR THE PRESERVATION, MAINTENANCE,
REMOVAL AND PLANTING OF STREET TREES
WHEREAS, the Planning Board of the City of Alameda has
considered the Draft Street Tree Master Plan and has heard public
testimony; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Board by Resolution No. 1979 approved
the Draft Street Tree Management Plan with findings and conditions;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed all of the evidence,
testimony, and documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Alameda that said Council hereby adopts the Draft Street Tree
Management Plan, as amended with the conditions and findings
identified in Planning Board Resolution No. 1979, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Condition No. 18 shall be modified
to allow the Public Works Director to approve minor variances
without Planning Board approval. Such minor variances are
specifically the modification of the planting site location
parameters and the change of tree species in order to accommodate
a site - specific problem; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Condition No. 24, calling for 500
trees per year, will be considered a goal and subject to budget
constraints.

City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of
November, 1989, by the following vote to wit:
